About Heimer Hampshires

Heimer Hampshires, as it's known today, was founded in the fall of 2006 with the purchase of a handful of gilts. After rapid growth through the program's first decade, we built a boar stud in 2016 to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality semen for our own breeding program. Over the past ten years, our boar lineup has produced genetics that have earned industry-wide attention. At times, we've had the people and processes in place to make those genetics widely available. At other times, our focus has remained squarely on advancing our breeding program, and we simply haven't done as effective a job connecting those boars with customers who wanted access to them. One thing has never changed: the right boars on The Hill are the foundation of everything we do. Our boar lineup isn't assembled to sell semen—it's built to move our breeding program forward. The fact that those genetics can help other programs is a responsibility we take seriously. Twenty years after getting started with a handful of gilts, we're as excited as we've ever been about the future.
