SOLID ROCK is the product of breeding one of the hottest boars in the country of the last couple years to one of the most unique young sows we have on the farm! Most of you are likely familiar with Wide Awake, and if not it won’t take much research to find his success story. To speak more of the bottom side of this pedigree line. SR’s mom is a second parity sow that is directly linebred as you can read above. Aside from her genetic value, to us in the sow lot she was always easy to gravitate to as one of the burliest females you’d find with a loose skeleton, and good pattern. To me she always just looked like a generator. It took some patience to get her bred and going, but we did and this mating yielded Solid Rock along with a couple of neat breeding piece gilts we retained! Solid Rock has always read dense about his skull, had a big arm, blade, and body shape. His composition has always been chunky and fleshy! 📝Breeding Tip: Use Solid rock on those harder made neat looking sows that need a more dense build in terms of skull, arm, blade, and a bolder and softer body shape and added general bulk.
